dennis clarkThe ImmortalsDerick Johnson was a brilliant man.  His love of science led him into medicine.  Doctors and scientists were exploring ways to extend life.  They studied diets and the aging process in cells.  At best this only offered marginal gains.  Dr. Johnson was a bit quirky.  He recognized the legal and moral boundaries; but, he liked to color outside the lines.  He explored cloning humans.  However, the challenge was transferring the mind of the donor to the clone.  He figured it out.

He set out to offer key people an extension to life … being cloned and gaining another fifty years of life.  Money can buy anything but time; here he could offer more time … fifty years.  The fee was huge to cover the cloning, the raising of the clone and the transition.  Only the very rich could afford the opportunity.

He sought out a place to legally manage such an enterprise.  He found it on a remote island.  He built the facility and began the cloning process.  It was a challenge in the beginning and in raising the clones.  And, legal challenges threatened the newly minted clones as they attempted to live their new lives.
